MISHOP offers introductory courses in foreign languages to promote better understanding of different cultures and smooth communication between internationals and Japanese residents.
Introductory courses in Chinese and in Korean have been offered since 1991, with one course each every year. These are for a maximum of 20 beginner students. There are 10 classes in each course, which meets weekly. The fee is 10,000 yen plus textbook charges.
The number of the registered foreigners in Mitaka City was 3,226 as of June 1, 2008. The largest group was Chinese nationals at 969, and the second largest group was Koreans at 869. Why don’t you study Chinese or Korean to try communicating with your foreign neighbors around you!
