How to use the NTT “Disaster Message Exchange”

In the event of a disaster such as an earthquake, NTT will set up a voice mail "Disaster Message Dial Service".

■ How to register a message
① Dial "171" followed by "1"
② Dial your home phone number from the area code and leave a message (within 30 seconds).
Message retention period: 48 hours (2 days) after recording
Number of accumulated messages: 1-10 messages per phone number

■ How to listen to a message
① Dial "171" followed by "2"
② Dial the phone number of the person you want to contact from the area code and listen to the message.

■ Available phones
It can be used from landlines (both push line and dial line), public phones, and mobile phones.
* Some phones might not be available

Mobile phone companies will also provide disaster message version services in the event of a disaster.
